Catalogue text

This painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Papunya Tula Artists, Alice Springs, which reads: 'This painting depicts designs associated with Womens' Ceremonies at the rockhole and soakage water site of Ngaminya, just to the south west of the Kiwirrkura Community. The oblong shape in the centre of the work is a nulla nulla (fighting club). A group of women gathered at the site to perform the dances and sing the songs associated with the area. The grid-like designs at the outer edges of the work represent the sandhills surrounding the area.'
