Catalogue text

This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Warlayirti Artists which states: ‘Purkitji is the Tjaru name for Sturt Creek, north of Balgo. This is important country for Boxer, and the central vertical line depicts the main channel of Purkitji. The smaller hook shapes are the many, small tributaries that run into Purkitji. The main horizontal channel in the painting shows the river flowing from Carranya Station.’
