The original certificate states in part: 'Emily’s country, Alalgura has many varieties of bush tucker and animals associated with it. In this instance it is the “alatji”, orwild yam, whose form underlies this work. At a dry time, the yam lies underground waiting to be either harvested or rejuvenated by rain.'
